Good luck with that. I got a C note says it ain't gonna happen this year.
No way the Gov of Colorado lets that kind of close contact required to replace a ski lift.
He's a good governor, and smart. Made sure that all dispensaries in the state are considered "essential businesses". Guy is smart, not like Fla governor.
Not a chance that lift goes in this summer if the virus is still running rampant. Not a chance..

I wonder what the impact of the shut down will have on SR. All the money lost for the March/April events. I have a bad feeling we will see lots of restaurants and bars closing up there. I hope im way wrong but a coup,e was struggling before the shut down

It was so nice to see the business the Ikon pass brought to local inns and such. So depressing.

Well, pretty much expected due to the downside risk of no lift in those alignments for next season if work gets stopped or can't be completed. Not a $$ thing especially with Swifty since it is almost all fabricated and Boyne owned already. Guess we will have to strap on the big boy pants and get ready for 2 more seasons at least with the current Barker beast.

Alterra has now shelved their two planned HSS installs at Mammoth to replace the Canyon and Broadway Yan-o-myer HSQ's to next summer. Along with furloughs of all year round employees not capable of doing their work remotely. They keep their health benefits but zero pay (similar to Vail). Gregory won't take pay until they are all back but all other remaining salaried employees remain at full pay for now (unlike Vail).

Winter-use, new installations are now down to 17; Total winter-use installations (new and used) are down to 22; total installations are down to 30. I'm pretty sure this year is on track to be the worst construction season on record (which dates back to 1963). This is the lowest single-year total out of the last 15 years.

So listening to the latest Storm Skiing Podcast with Dopp USA's President, sounds like both Loon's Kanc8 and Big SKy's Swifty6 are both fabricated already in Austria and will be sttored there until next year then shipped over.

that crossover lift at Zermatt looks insane, if all goes well we will be riding it next year. God willing.

Europe and the amount of big, flashy lifts they can put up is super impressive. Have to love the public/private integration of lifts as local transport over there. Hard to string up too many of those over here (3S lifts anyway).

You can ski directly from the top of Klein Matterhorn right into Italy. That is for people that are not skiing. I would much rather they complete the new lift up to the top of the Stockhorn that is probably next on the list of improvements.

Exactly -it’s a cool lift but as the link says, “ No longer will grandparents and intermediate skiers have to miss out when friends and family head over for an Italian lunch!”
