We’ll start with a poll. Not being biased, I put them in the order mentioned in official registration notes. Just like real life, you get one choice. Unlike real life, you can change your vote up until the poll closes July 4th. After voting feel free to swing open the barn doors.
There are currently three official political parties in the State of Maine: Democrat, Green-Independent and Republican. Registered voters may enroll in one of these political parties. There also are two other parties currently seeking status in the State of Maine: Libertarian and Socialist. Voters may also enroll in these parties at this time. However, residents who wish to register to vote do not have to select a political party and can remain unaffiliated

Unaffiliated as it cuts down on the junk mail. It also lets me, at least in my home state, pick any ONE primary ballot. That way I have to option to grab a Democrat primary ballot and try to knock off the favorite.

So based on your response Dick, you are really a republican? Yes, I do not like tax and spend, hence I do not vote for Democrats. I AM getting pretty pissed with the Republicans who seem to have slipped into the spend part of the equation as I consider the national debt to be a big problem. We need less spending, but also more taxes to get to a balanced budget. The above will need to wait until after the worst of this current pandemic is past as government spending intervention may be the only thing that stops this from becoming another Great Depression.

I understand your position. I do think this thread is a bad idea. It will lead to an endless supply of blame, name calling and vitriol. Oh wait, that is the rest of this forum. LOL Actually it is nobody's business who I align with but my own.

A bunch of middle aged men arguing politics, this will be fun. I will start by saying I vote Republican "most" of the time...but I voted for Obama 2x and I have my reasons for doing so. I have blurry lines and not committed either way....I am watching and listening.

If this gets bad, I'll launch my Rubber Room section of this board and relegate this to there. In the meantime, yes I vote Elephant most of the time but I did vote Obama first go-around. Also voted for Kerry on W's second campaign because I could not support the war we were in then.
I also need to say I am fiscally conservative but the religious right stance of the party gives me heartburn. I live by "Live Free or Die" NH motto, so if what you do in your life works for you, good on you!! None of my business. That part of the platform I have trouble reconciling all the time.

Trump's fault?

Life long Republican, national debt, Economy, rule of law, fiscal responsibility, integrity of the office of the presidency are leading my views. I am a never Trumper. Only Democratic president I voted for was Obama. Will vote Democratic again until Trump is gone. I have volunteered for political campaigns in the past. Political system is failing. I think term limits are essential to bring in New Ideas. I remember when environmental issues were supported by Reagan and Republicans I guess I am a in old traditional republican. I think middle of the road politicians get the most done.

Yes, the religious right is why I am a unenrolled voter. They drive me nuts. I’m libertarian with respect to religion, What ever works for you provided it does not interfere with me or others. I have never voted Democrat for president.
