Can you post a link/screenshot? I'm not friends with him on FB so it's possible it's not 'public' - last thing I see on his personal page is a post from a Randall A. Grondin from 4h ago: "Rick Savage for Governor!!" On the Brew Pub page, it's a two-day old a "Veterans Love" post...

a tad away from Bethel - but has anyone here eaten at The French Laundry in Yountville, CA? $350 per person for your entree?
I went to Hugo's in Portland once a couple of years ago. Is it like that? Where you bend over and they shove nouveau food up your ass and charge you $100's? Asking for a friend. Thanks.
Oh, and ZNN, this is not for you.

Yup - but it is a 7-8 courses, not just the entrée & cost much less way back when. The old chef's tasting menu at Hugo's was pretty wild - we had a 15 course (anniversary) dinner with paired wines. When the plates started coming out we were chuckling at the small size, but by the end could barely finish a Barbie doll sized ice cream cone. David's Opus Ten offers a 7 course tasting menu which is paired with wines. The White Barn (Kport) presently has a 6-course chef's lobster menu which costs $195 (w/o drinks)

Went there 10-12 years ago w/ a Buddy who is VP of a large wine Co based in Modesto.
Similar in many ways to SAalt in Gorham
$$$$$$, Excellent service and food was superb, BUT definitely small portions.
In Boston it would be closest to a place like Tasting Counter, No. 9 Park or O Ya.
Worth going but I've had food as good at a better price many times.

There is nothing like the French laundry in MA or ME. The closest comparison is in NYC like Masa or Le Bernardin. It's not a set price and the menu varies wildly based on the accessibility from the local farms and what is available. Hugo's is nice though. I am trying to go at least once to all of the Michelin 3 star rated restaurants. I have been shut out a ton. Some of them you need weeks advanced resi.

MB that is fine. I am sure it is a fine restaurant. But does it have a Michelin 3 star rating like Masa or Le Bernardine? Do they have chiefs from all over the world going there to sample what they are doing. I doubt it.

Closest to any Michelin stars in Maine is the chef from Acadia (2 star in Chicago) who opened a place on Stonington this summer called Acadia House Provisions.

All 3 I mentioned just happen to be on the Michelin list (and I didn't even know it).
No 9 Park is our go to place for Restaurant Week lunches. O Ya is after work
I used to go to Le Bernardin every other weekend when I was in NYC. The food is just not as good. Exceptional service/atmosphere, But I go for the meal nothing else.
Peace

God we could probably start a Best Lobstah Roll thread...
Anyone remember when the old Breau's in W. Bethel won the Best Maine Lobster Roll 3-4 years in a row ?
Had to be almost 20 years ago...
