Figured I'd start this thread since we lost one of the best in Bethel with 22 Broad Street's closing. As I stated in anither thread, John has said they will still serve up some of the menu favorites from 22 Broad at Barking Dawg this coming winter.
Use this thread to discuss or post any food scene announcements/reviews etc for the local area. Let's hope we don't get too many more loss postings!

I guess you can count Meeting House as a closure but not necc Covid related. So that’s 2.

Too Bad.... 22 Broad was a favorite of ours. I hope he will make some of his raviolis. My youngest loves those things. Crazy they are closing. I used to have to book weeks in advance to get a seat on the weekends.

I hadn't heard 22 Broad closed, any reason given? On Facebook, John the owner just posted 20 years was enough, time to enjoy life. Sounds like retirement, whether they had actually planned it this year or were coerced by a bug remains a mystery

Things are heating up (again) at the end of the access road. BETHEL — A Superior Court Justice on Friday granted a temporary injunction against Sunday River Brewing Co., ordering it to remain closed until its licenses to operate are restored. After hearing that the injunction had been granted, Savage said he plans to file a lawsuit against Mills, the DHHS and a slew of others who have been fighting to shut down Sunday River Brewing. “Everyone who messed with us is going to have a lawsuit on their hands,” Savage said. “It’s going to be with a pretty powerful attorney and we’re going to win.” www.sunjournal.com/2020/05/15/court-issues-injunction-against-sunday-river-brewing-reopening/

At least he and his GoFundMe war chest will help preserve cash flow for a few powerful lawyers.

Of coursem he would have lacked the publicity to drive his gofundme war chest.

Yup, fear us Massholes that are isolating and taking this shit seriously, but Mainers breathing all over each other is fine. That’s my take-away whether correct or not. Never in a million years would have thought a deadly pandemic would become political - but oh well. “We’re all in this together” bahahaha.

It became political when the science no longer supported the decisions and also when only part of the science was being considered in those decisions.

LePage will run next election and win, guaranteed. So LaPage drives here with his car registered in Florida and is he going to re-declare himself a Maine resident to run? I am all for aggressive tax positions, but at least I tried to keep mine quiet, under the radar so to speak! But then he isn't the quiet type, I guess.
