All,
The Sunday River Community as a group has been involved for 13 years.
Christmas for Families is a local grass root group, that helps Families in times of need around the Holiday Season in the Bethel region. I am sure you all have seen posters and info in the Citizen. Nina Wheeler leads the group. We just try to help out. Fall Line and other Condo associations have been great supporters, as have many other groups. Machski has let us use this platform to promote the drive. Thanks
Many of you know the Drill, and your continued support is overwhelming.
The process is providing a fun safe toy for toddlers to mid teen age. Gifts need not be expensive, just thoughtful and safe. If you wonder if it is a safe today, assume it is not.
What is requested is an "unwrapped" toy, to be donated.
The Christmas for Families group provides wrapping paper and brings in parents in need, and they get to choose the gifts and wrap them. Allowing the parents and Guardians the ability to be involved in the process. The last few years we have averaged over 200 donated gifts from the SR Community Board. Pretty impressive.
Drop off Options. Susan from Mountain Real Estate will help again this year. She will take gifts starting Monday November 27th through Dec 17th. I will go a few times a week and pick up and drop off gifts. Susan and her crew have been wonderful.
If you know me, you can touch base, and see me on the hill or drop off at my house. I will be at the Barker mug Club party if that works too.
I will do Venmo again if you want to do an easy donation. You can get my Venmo info offline, and you will just have to trust me, that I will get it to the right place. " This can be an adventure if you know me."
This is not an organization I can give a tax Id for. Very simple, good people doing great things.
More to come.
best, Vortex AKA Bob R
