Barker road has asphalt on it, didn't drive it to see if that's true the whole way. Hope it didnt get damaged with all tbe rain last week. Drove it today, road seemed fine. They did a lot of drainage work around the road, too, so if you're used to parking roadside, you may want to scope things out before they get covered in snow. A lot of spots that worked for parking in the past won't be options this year.

Those are not new, been on the 2030 plan since its inception. North Peak I am guessing is in consideration for Merrill Hill and Dreammaker Lodge if that ever happens. Perhaps it gets refurbed and Tempest gets the old NP instead of just a carpet fixed per the plan. South Ridge is the second oldest detach on the hill, when Barker gets replaced it will be the only Poma detach on hill. I would guess a D-Line machine so it has load carpet to platform with the platform lift system for ski school ease. Doubt it will be bubbled. Not much new on the plan really at this point. For lifts the plan shows the following Short term: Barker replacement, Tempest add carpet load Mid term: Tempest & Aurora replacement Long term: North Peak & South Ridge replacement 2030.sundayriver.com/I wonder if there are any plans for Locke since it is the oldest lift on the mountain - maybe it just goes away at some point since the racers have a T and Barker will be replaced. I seriously doubt Locke is going anywhere anytime soon. It may be the oldest standing lift on the hill, but it has had so many upgrades and new components added since first installed, much isn't that old. Just the 2 most recent mods were significant expenditures on it. The all new top return terminal first and most recent the new towers and alignment for cross the racing T. Not to mention one of those new towers is a common tower for the T. I would also expect the Tempest plan to change. I can't see the point to adding a vaulted carpet load to the old base terminal if they are going to completely going to replace it. Like they had to with the Spruce terminal, basically pull the carpet out and vault to realign with the new Dopp TriStar terminal. Just do it all at once, another year or two as is won't kill anyone.

Is something happening at Whitecap/Tempest? Web cam shows an excavator with a "jack-hammer" attachment.

Maybe Boyne will repurpose the carpet load from the Seven Brothers Chair if it was not sold with the chair. It was only a few seasons old.

I don't think you can put a four person carpet on a three person system.

Looking like 10 days out or so before MTN Ops can even think about making snow. Playing golf in Malden on Monday the 7th, forecast to be 78.

Yup, meanwhile A-Basin, Keystone and Winter Park are all open in Colorado (Copper's US Ski Team Speed Training venue is open, public open next weekend I believe). Earliest ever opening yesterday for WP. And hearing Brian Head in Southern Utah will be first to open in Utah Friday. Big Sky meanwhile has begun snowmaking well ahead of their normal planned start and have had over 25" of natural already. 3rd year in a row the east has had a slow cold air start, also third year in a row of La Nina.

Is something happening at Whitecap/Tempest? Web cam shows an excavator with a "jack-hammer" attachment. A couple of weeks ago when I walked around back of WC lodge the entire Shipyard deck area had been razed - no fire pit, no decking. Can’t recall if the foundation for the old arcade was still in place, but maybe that was being hammered if still there. Might take a walk to see what has transpired since.

WC Lodge keeps getting smaller.....probably down a couple more urinals too. #sad, could be such a good spot!

Depending on what they do and when with th Barker chair, two big lift upgrades plus all the snowmaking upgrades could really add interest in SR. Could really use that third base lodge to be something nice, we all know how Barker goes on the weekends between racing events and general crowds.

When we were at Brookside the old property manager used to tell us, the foundation was engineered for condos above the lodge if they could get the height approved by fire/safety, and if not, they could tear down and build off that foundation??? Seems too easy.

Loon plans to fire up snowmaking operations tonight, only lower half in West Basin. And the trails planned are all their predominant race trails. Wonder if they caught a few of the ladies teams for training days prior to K-Cup? SR indicating they are waiting to open it full on after the wet weather Fri/Sat. Hopefully you all are skiing next week at some point, back to work after my vacation break.

Big excitement at Sugarloaf, will get washed away.
