Well, the first base lodge replacement for the Boyne Eastern portfolio is a go!!! Nope, not at SR. Loon, the Governor Adams lodge replacement in West Basin is being replaced with a new structure to be built where the current learner and comp centers are just west of the existing lodge. The current lodge will remain in place while the new lodge is built over the next two years. Post completion, it is still undetermined if the old lodge will be razed or kept and repurposed. Additionally, they have extensive lodge building to be done at the new base of South Peak in the coming seasons as most of the ski school will be moving to the new learning pod they are putting in right now. Hopefully SR gets in on that action soon, along with some type of peak period parking strategy. A new lodge at South peak should of been built first. The temporary tent is small, is not located near the large parking lot at South Peak and the Cisco lease kinda of lessened the space for normal lodge activities. From a pure skiig POV, I agree completely. New lodges are coming sooner tha later to South Peak, though they will be at the base of the new learner's quad and not at the base of the Lincoln Express. New West Basin Lodge is needed as that will anchor a lot of the summer activities moving forward in time (Mountain Coaster will base there along with all things MTN Biking). The may repurpose current Gov Adams lodge (thinking resort offices, etc) to make room over at Octagon for a larger capacity Gondi which will require a large revamp over there.

Is there a new gondi going in? Can't keep up with all the changes. I would welcome lodge upgrades at SR, won't change my experience - I am happy with what we have now, but I think it would change the casual skier's experience and bring more revenue to the resort.

Not yet, but it is in their 2030 flightpath plan. That said, the South Peak learning pod was no where to be found in that so things are definitely in flux as to where they go next.

i understood from years back when SP was created a lodge would be going in at the large parking lot where the new quad is being built now. It was supposed to be built and I assume paid for by the developer of the condos and house lots. I think they are no longer involved with the project. The parking lot is needed weekends and holidays and without the lodge a shuttle is required unless you want to boot up in the parking lot!

The plan all along has always been to move ski school over to the base of the new SP pod as that is the he only true novice/beginner terrain on the hill. To realize that, they have to build up at the Escape Route base next. Otherwise they should have just reused the 7 Bros Triple and not cut anymore trails on that pod.
