I got out for a few runs. First run broke everything up. I liked Punch better, I heard more liking T2. I went to the bottom twice, first time was okay until the water bars and the entry of top gun. Below that is what you expect, rock, Ice balls and some ice. 2nd time it got slick. About average for Early season, better than downloading. Pretty good first day. Tonight's cold temps should make a big difference in getting to the base. Thanks to all who made the effort, so we got to go out.

Below Agony was a bit "variable." I think most of it was the natural snow from Wednesday's storm?!?! Pretty cold out there now, hoping they can get that filled in by weekend.
Fun day, thanks to Mountain Op and all involved to get the season rolling!!

Agree with the prior posts about today. That said, I was out later from 1-3. T2 was about as good as it gets on opening day. Guns were running all day, so that probably helped PM conditions. Deep coverage and soft snow top to bottom. Upper Punch was a mixed bag, some slick sections, but the guns were off. Ectasy/Jungle Rd good to go, and they were running/testing Barker all day. Below the mid station, great coverage until Rocking Chair, but at least there was frozen stuff to slide on below that right to the base. Given the forecast, they should be in great shape for Thanksgiving weekend.

Peak CAM seems to indicate snowmaking TTB on AmEx. Have to imagine lower Risky and Lazy are getting hit too. Not sure I've seen all that simultaneously before along with RS, Cascade and Punch/Lower Punch. Is Tourist Trap lit too?

Saw snowmaking on Tourist Trap yesterday. Would make sense to get Lazy to Risky to Tourist open.

Treacherous conditions on some areas out there today! Whalebacks on Rightstuff were solid ice on the skiers left side and pitched into woods. I slid right down into trees. You couldn't stand up on it either so getting out off trees and down a bit to try and cross over to other side of trail was crazy having to hold onto snow covered branches and slid down on my ass and keep grabbing branches or would slide down into trees again! Hardest time I've ever had going down that trail ever in decades... some nice sections out there too though. Lazy and Risky should be a go tomorrow

Hoping we get a preview of the aforementioned trail set.

The solid whales Garcia mentions were treacherous; could not edge on them. Odd, there was no snowmaking yesterday and it was cold.

It's all groomed out today. Pretty good for my day 1. The first groomed trails of season (RS, Punch, Cascades) all firm base with some loose chunky on top. Also some majore grooming ridges, all of which I imagine will be much better after a successive groom tonight. Patrol said they had wanted to drop Lazy/Risky/TT today but I guess TT was like wet cement. So that should open tomorrow. Hearing Spruce for sure by the Holiday weekend, maybe SRX and Broadway in South Ridge too. Looks like best low elevation run is actually tomorrow night thru Friday AM so likely will be dependent on that window. Active making today on Risky/AmEx, TT, Broadway, Easy Street and MM. MM isn't close yet.

I got out and skied everything open today. Groomers did well. Guns were on Southridge when I got there around 10.45. A few got shut off, I assume minimal production. Windy and I had 35 in the lot. Was 33 when I left. Guns kept coming online. Road runner and jibe and then MM. Lazy River and spruce were the best, everything needs to be resurfaced. A few off and on squalls. I saw a couple of sink holes, 1 on Right stuff was pretty big. Lower Punch needs the love the most. It shined from the lift. I have to admit it was much better than I expected. the place was basically empty. Nice work by operations

Hopefully this weekend won’t be too bad - fingers crossed the any precipitation Saturday remains light. If so snow surface should be decent and it could be fun and not a miserable soaked day. Then groom early Sunday AM so hopefully the mountain isn’t a frozen popsicle stick for Sunday. One can hope n dream….

Got out around 1 today and it was actually pretty good out considering the weather lately. Granted it was above freezing so snow was relatively soft. They should be able handle what Saturday brings but definitely need these warm temps to fade. C'mon Freeze Mizer
