My previous comments were reinforced by last night. That was the worst performance by a Bruins team in my memory. Talk about hanging your goalies out to dry. Great lack of intensity. Stupid penalties by Ritchie and MacEvoy. Carlo was playing great back in January and February. Now he looks pedestrian at best. I felt sorry for Vladar. Hope it doesn't leave him with a permanent psychological scar. I wonder if the NHL players will follow their NBA counterparts.

Damn. Halak played great on OT, had no chance on the game winner. Likely the last time we see Chara in Bs uni.

Damn. Halak played great on OT, had no chance on the game winner. Likely the last time we see Chara in Bs uni. I saw entry of Chara this year, he often looked like the Statue of Liberty out there. Lot of talk on Boston Sports Radio that Rask should join Chara in not coming back. Not sure how much of a difference it would have made in this series. The only time the B's found success in this series against Vasilevskiy was when they were able to swing the puck from one side to the other with a quick shot after. They just weren't able to generate enough of that action to really break through.

If the rumors of what happened in Rask family are true I might be willing to give the guy a break, although I am sure many wouldn’t.

I'd like to see the definitive answer to the question of why Rask left. End all the rumors. That said, his presence would have made a huge difference in this series if he played up to his Vezina standards. Halak can be great for the odd game or two, as he showed last night. That's why he is a great backup. But he let in too many tough goals in a close series. TB had too much of a size advantage for the Bruins to overcome. Did you notice Krug trying to cover Maroon on the winning goal? Mutt and Jeff. The TB defensemen were fantastic in this series. Bruins had too much difficulty getting inside, and when they did, Vasilesky ate them up.
It's sad to see Chara. He is a Hall of Famer, but now he just is too slow against a team like Tampa. He is fine against most other teams, though, and I think worth bringing back for what he brings to the team in class and example. I'll be surprised if Krug stays, given the money he'll be offered elsewhere. Much as I love his game, he can be replaced by MacEvoy on the PP. I don't see the Bruins being a first place team by any means next year, probably a mid table team but one that could get it together for a playoff run again. But like hockey at every level, it will ultimately come down to goaltending.

The one thing against him is that even before this, he indicated this season he might retire soon than later. Probably the 2 are unfortunately a coincidence for him and the situation. No doubt the intersection of the two will fuel questions/speculation.

I cried tonight when I heard this news. I never met him either but remember the night he was injured and admired him ever since for his perseverance and positive message. He was an inspiration to people with and without spinal injuries. The world is a little darker tonight. 😥

RIP Travis, super inspirational guy...will surely be missed. Met Travis’ mom Brenda several times when he had his accident. Super nice lady and principal of Deering High. Travis was also a stick boy for the old Maine Mariners. Rip

With national cases climbing, moving NHL games outside if at all feasible is probably a smart move. Indoors, where is the air the coldest? Right over the ice, indoors with no wind. That means air stagnates right over the ice sheet and thus if one player has it and is playing, good bet indoors other players come down with it from that game. Outside, the ice may not be as cold as the air and their is usually wind, moving any cold stagnation over the air around.
