Haha Cartman! In all seriousness though, why is Canada allowing Hockey teams to play and travel to/from Canada to multiple locations but they won't allow the Jays to play in a single city with only a handful of teams to travel to? Oh wait, stupid question. Not quite the case Mach. All players report and quarantine. Then they only stay and play at one location. Western conference in Edmonton. Eastern conference in Toronto. Yeah, I know it's different. But the city and Province both signed off on it, the Canadian government nixed it. Kind of crap as they could have quarantined the opposing teams in hotels upon arrival in CYYZ. If I were the owner of the Jay's, I might be shopping for a new home after that. All that said, given the outbreak now in the Cardinals, it was likely a decent call without putting big guardrails in place.

Great to have hockey back. I didn't really see a different fan experience with no crowds. Great job by NHL turning the rink into a TV studio. No empty seats, some good digital graphics, and simulated crowds noise seemed more realistic than MLB and NBA. The key may be, with 5 or 6 games a day, how many decent play by play guys they can muster.

So the 12 seeds in both conferences eliminate the 5 seeds. This should make for a really fun round of 16 starting next Tuesday.

As much as I was jonesing for sports, I almost forgot about the NHL. I mean it’s August. Wake me up for the finals.

For anyone who was hoping to watch Bruins tonight,.... hang tight. The Columbus/Tampa game is going into it's 2nd overtime period. So, once that ends, and they clear the locker rooms, 45-60 minutes to sterilize, then Bruins and Canes can suit up for warmups. Then resurface, and maybe drop puck by 10 p.m. ? Probably best case scenario. I am already missing the noon and 4 pm puck drops.

Are they using playoff overtime rules? Yes, once the streetlights come on,... it's next goal wins. Just like in the old neighborhood.

Correction: It is now 6 hours after the Columbus/Tampa started, and still tied after 7 periods of play. 85 saves,(so far) for Joonas Korpisalo
Two takeaways: 1. This should be enough to drain both of these teams for future rounds of Cup series. 2. I will not be awake for Bruins game, and even though I DVR'ed it, it will likely just record the last 5 periods of this game.
This just in.................. Bruins game now postponed until 11 am Wednesday.

So Rask has opted out to be with family. That's fine, glad he did what is best for him and the club too if his mind is elsewhere. Halak came out on short notice today and played a great game. Long way to go, but given everything, it would be a bit funny if B's went all the way without Rask.
